Create Your Own Beat Yesterday Book
Track Daily, Weekly and Yearly Retail Sales Figures

By , About.com Guide

The Beat Yesterday Book is simply a journal of the daily sales for a retail store. Having the figures at a glance can prepare the retailer for what may lie ahead. It's only effective once the store has some history, but the time to start tracking sales is right now.

The following form can be reprinted or copied and adjusted to fit a retailers needs. Just make 12 copies of the Monthly Sales form and fill in the Net Sales (after voids, refunds) each day at closing. The Yearly Sales form can include fields showing the percentage increase/decrease in sales. Be sure to note any noteworthy events such as terrible weather, a clearance sale or if the town was having an event.
