Staff Meeting Topics: Basic Safety
Retail Topic Ideas for Store Meetings

By , About.com Guide

The key to accident prevention in retail begins with awareness of basic safety. It's also a great topic for the next staff meeting!

Start the store meeting by pointing out the Job Safety and Health Protection (OSHA) poster and any emergency contact numbers posted in the break room or other work area.

Plan safety demonstrations and provide basic workplace safety guidelines to the group. Be sure to have a copy of the store policy manual on hand as reference.

Get creative. This topic may be simple common sense for most employees and quite boring, so it will require a little creativity to keep the meeting interesting and informative. Use any video training aids or consider inviting a safety expert to speak.

The following safety and health resources for retailers can help store management and staff avoid workplace hazards.
