Facing

Definition:

Noun: The number of identical products (or same SKUs) on a shelf turned out toward the customer.

Verb: The act of pulling each product to the front edge of a shelf with the label turned forward. This gives the store an appearance of being full with merchandise.

A common term used in implementing planograms and when zoning or straightening a retail store.

Also Known As: fronting, straightening
Examples: We begin facing our store each night just before closing.
