Sliding

Definition: A loss prevention term referring to the act of a cashier passing merchandise around the cash register barcode scanner without actually scanning the item. The cashier then places the product directly into a shopping bag and the bag is quickly removed from the store.
Also Known As: Stealing, Employee Theft
Examples: The LP team recently caught one of our cashiers for sliding merchandise to her friends.
