Is Your Perimeter Secure?

Wednesday November 1, 2006

Last week, I wrote about creating shoplifting policies for your retail store. Even if you haven't written your procedure yet, most retailers often think about how to prevent shoplifting. While we generally take all the necessary precautions to prevent theives from walking out with merchandise, we may not think about those trying to break in once the store is closed.

Ryan Groom, About Business Security Guide, says:

Next time you are examining the security of your perimeter of your building, don’t just spend money on good locks (which is equally important). Think outside the box and make sure you have a layered defense to catch the bad guys should they get past your locks.

Does your store have adequate protection against intruders?
