Creating a Retail Promotional Calendar

Marketing a retail store is easier if you are working in a chain store for a big company, than if you are running your own shop. This was a lesson I learned the hard way my first year in business for myself. Gone were the days when planograms, marketing calendars and ad schedules would arrive neatly typed and organized on my desk. Many of our promotions that first year were planned, implemented and (undoubtedly) failed within a 48- hour period. Then we learned to plan ahead.
