Immigrants Starting More Businesses
Thursday May 25, 2006
According to the latest Kauffman Index of Entrepreneurial Activity, more immigrants are starting businesses in the United States than natural born citizens. Although the rate of immigrant entrepreneurs was down in 2005 from the previous year, the report shows that 350 out of 100,000 started a business last year. That’s compared to the rate of 280 out of 100,000 for native-born Americans. The reason? Some feel immigrants have an entrepreneurial nature and are more willing to take the risk of starting a business.
